CLUB ACTIVITIES FOR JANUARY:

NOTES FROM THE FEBRUARY MEETING:
Sponsors – we need all sponsors in by Feb 8th in order to have the t-shirts by 1st of March. All Alan needs by then is names as they want them on the shirt – they can email or call and we will pick up the information about their business to display on MCW’s web page. It would be nice to have this as soon as possible.
T-shirts – the color we selected does not come in 100% cotton. By vote it was decided the color will be royal blue.
There was interest in participating in the Relay for Life at the multi-purpose stadium in Midlothian on April 20th and 21st. Laura will provide more details at the next meeting.
CLUB SHOW SCHEDULE:
1. February 9 – Children’s Hospital Valentines Party. We will leave Brookshire’s parking lot at 8:30am. If anyone wants to donate for the party please contact Laura by February 3.
2. Minyard’s in Lancaster has ask us to host a car show to celebrate 80 years – ones that responded said yes “weather permitting”. It was decided this will be a cruise in. Date is Feb 11th from 11am – 3pm. only if weather is permitting. The address is 1450 West Pleasant Run, Lancaster. They are furnishing gift cards from local merchants in place of trophies – this is because the weather is not very predictable in Feb. There will be 9 gift cards that will raffled off for $5 a chance. There will be 5-$25.00, 2-$50.00, 1-$75.00 and 1-$100.00 gift cards. We will need to be there about 10:00 am. There will be free hot dogs and the Fire Department will be there with their “Fire House” for the kids.
3. April 7 - “Spurrin for Christ”, registration 9am – 12n, show 10am – 3pm
4. Show dates are set for Vandergriff Honda
A. May 5th from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
B. July 7th from 5:00 – 9:00 pm
C. October 20th from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
5. Cruise in at Texas Best Smokehouse (Midlothian & Italy) and Uptown Village start next month.
A. All are the same as last year. Texas Best Smokehouse, Midlothian 1st Friday of each month, Texas Best Smokehouse 4th Sunday of each month, Uptown Village 3rd Saturday of each month.
B. Uptown Village 1st Cruise In March 24th – Starts at 4:00 pm. Shows start at 6pm beginning in April.
1 .June cruise in will honor “Fathers Day”.
2. October cruise in will be “Trunk or Treat” and will be on the 27th
3. November will be a toy drive – Santa’s Helpers.
D. Texas Best Smokehouse Midlothian – Starts March 2nd @ 6:00 pm. Will be every 1st Friday of the month.
E. Texas Best Smokehouse Italy – Starts March 25th @ 2:00 pm. Will be every 4th Sunday of the month.
6. June 2 – Fly In at Midway Airport – starts at 8am
OTHER SHOWS:
Every Friday night – weather permitting. Nostalgia Nights Cruise in at Albertson’s on Little Rd. (301 SW Plaza), Arlington, TX 6-10pm. Sponsored by “Classical Gas Motors”
February 18 – Mardi Gras Parade in Downtown Waxahachie at 3pm. Anyone interested in driving their car in the parade can get an entry form at the College Street Pub.

CLUB ACTIVITIES FOR DECEMBER:
Even though December is a slow month for shows and cruise ins, Midlothian Classic Wheels stayed active. We started out with MCW’s annual Christmas party and gift exchange which was just as confusing as ever but fun. Corrinne’s “lefty - righty” story can confuse anyone.
On December 2nd several vehicles delivered toys and a check to WFAA Channel 8’s “Santa’s Helpers” at Uptown Village at Cedar Hill. Weather was rotten so the “classics” did not make the trip – hopefully next year. The toys and money were collected on November 19th at the annual car show held at Uptown Village. Thanks to all that donated.
December 10th MCW cruised to Venus for their “Christmas on the Square”. They had crafts and of course food.
This was followed by MCW’s annual Christmas Cruise to the Presbyterian Children’s Home in Waxahachie on December 11th. Once at the children’s home, we were met by a room full of anxious kids. Gifts that were donated by MCW members and sponsors were distributed to the kids. Thanks Joe and Connie for coordinating with the Midlothian Police Department for an escort and to Corrinne for her punch and members that brought goodies.
On December 15th MCW met at Mission Midlothian for another Christmas party for kids. Once more there were smiling kids more than ready to start enjoying Christmas gifts donated by MCW members

The vote was unanimous. A new office was created, Director of Communication which is the Publisher of the Club Newsletter. Eva Burrow has been doing this for some time and was elected to continue in this office.
2012 club t-shirts for 2012 will be dark gray. It was approved to place the same order for shirts as last year plus several more larges. The order will be placed soon but we must have the sponsors lined up before the order can be finished. We will need all renewing sponsors and any new sponsors to provide their information before the February meeting to be listed on our shirts.
A DVD is being produced of our club activities for our current and new sponsors.
A discussion was held about Safe Haven which is an organization that funds babies who are left at a fire station or hospital under the Baby Moses law. A spokeswoman for the organization will attend a future meeting to explain the organization.
Discussion was held regarding redoing the website to include owners in the picture gallery of the cars. This was voted on and approved. It would help if club members would take pictures of themselves with their cars and email to the club email address. mcwcarclub@sbcglobal.net
CLUB SHOW SCHEDULE:
A trip to Children’s Hospital is being set up for February for Valentine’s Day. Meeting has been set up with Children’s Hospital to discuss details of the club visits and to set a date for the next visit.
First Friday cruise-in and Uptown and Texas Best Smokehouse will resume in March 2012.
